Around 1550, brass was purposefully cast for the first time and thus offered various applications. However, with the beginning of the industrial age, writing instruments were mainly made of ebonite. At the same time, brass was only used for decorative parts such as clips and decorative rings. Later, ink cartridges made it possible to use brass for the writing instruments themselves because the ink hasn't been in contact with the metal surface.
Writing instruments of the series Kaweco Brass Sport develop a natural and unique patina over time. It is a surface change that occurs due to user-related, chemical or corrosive influences. As a result of this every Kaweco Brass Sport becomes a unique item over time. The writing instrument already presses lightly onto the paper by itself because of the high weight. This feature makes it possible for you to write long and comfortable.
The Brass Sport series offers 4 writing systems: mechanical pencil, fountain pen, ball pen and roller ball.
Five different nib sizes are available, from extra fine to extra broad. While the extra fine nib (EF) is suitable for small and delicate handwritings, the extra broad (BB) nib is often used for large, dramatic signatures. For beginners, we recommend the nib size medium (M). All nibs are produced in Germany.
As a perfect addition to the writing instruments of the series Brass Sport, we offer suitable refills, eleven vibrant ink colours, and clips in silver, gold, bronze or black.
By the way, when you're on the go, our pouches for one or two pens in different colour variations are ideal for this series.
